(Story part 1of2) Here’s to The Crazy Ones… and My Biggest Curse Ever
I’ve always known that I was one of the different ones.
I was one of those that was not supposed to be in a job.
That I was not supposed to be following what other people want me to do, and it was really confusing to me. Because I was like, how come all these people seem so satisfied? How can they feel OK with just doing the same thing every day, because it’s boring!
So for years I’ve kept trying to fix it.
I kept trying to go for the new thing. This job sucks, so I jumped over here, than that job sucks so I jumped over there.
In the process I moved places and countries like 3 or 4 times, kind of lost count, but in any case I was always thinking like an entrepreneur. I did not know how to label it at the time though.
I was always concerned about providing value, and I always wanted to just get out of the rat race.
I started thinking for myself outside of the society norms, and to stopped thinking about just following the path that everyone else seemed to be on.
I’m sure that many of you understand that feeling of looking at everyone else and going “How come everyone else seem to be following the same exact path? It just doesn’t feel right to me.”
And I kept jumping from job to job.. but every single job just sucked. And then I got the worst possible thing, my biggest curse, which was a job that was just comfortable enough, that was just good enough, that gave me just enough money, and it kept me alive day to day just enough to be able to go in and do it.
But I swear that was the biggest curse. Having a job that I could stand. For a while. And I sort of focused on one dream while losing sight of the big one.
That job was hard to quit. Ironically, the company went under 3 months after I quit, so my timing was just perfect, but I didn’t know it at the time.
Along the way I’ve been through some network marketing disasters. Lots of time and money invested while not even actually trying, I wasn’t even doing the action steps, because I never really believed it was possible. One day I randomly found a video online, and it was Dave Wood, and he was showing an actual strategy.
It was the first time I’ve seen someone in network marketing teach a strategy. I was like “oh my God, they’re actually teaching something, not just telling me to be excited.”
Naturally, I got excited about it and said let’s do this!
